Foaming Agent

A pivotal component in synthetic material fabrication, a foaming agent is a substance that induces the formation of cellular structures within a base material during the processing phase. It is classified into three main categories: chemical foaming agents, physical foaming agents, and surfactants. Among these, chemical foaming agents are compounds that decompose upon heating to release gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen, thereby creating fine pores within the polymer matrix. Both foaming agents and foaming auxiliaries are essential in the manufacturing of artificial sponges from rubber and plastic, contributing to their desired texture and buoyancy.
